Orazio Bartolomeo MD

Dr. Bartolomeo is a board-certified physician who earned his medical degree from the University of Palermo in 1989.

While in Italy he worked for the Italian Red Cross as an emergency physician as well as an independent physician in a weight management clinic. He completed his family medicine residency at LaGrange Memorial Hospital and started working for Sherman Hospital as a primary care physician as well as an Immediate Care physician.

In 2003 Dr. Bartolomeo became an independent physician and opened his family medicine practice. Since then he has grown his practice by showing compassion and truly caring about all his patients and their well-being.

Dr. Bartolomeo continues to stay active in the medical field, he is the Medical Director at the Garlands of Barrington as well as a US Civil Surgeon. He also donates his time as a family medicine preceptor for 3rd year medical students at Rosalind Franklin University Chicago Medical School.

When Dr. Bartolomeo is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and close friends. He stays active by running and playing with his 2 dogs. He also has a passion for foreign cars, reading and the great outdoors.

Chelsea Newren, NP-C

Chelsea is an Advanced Practice Nurse within Dr. Bartolomeo’s practice. Chelsea graduated Summa Cum Laude with her master’s degree in nursing from the University of St. Francis in Joliet in 2019. She is a nationally certified nurse practitioner specializing in family practice medicine. Chelsea works at several nursing facilities including the Garlands of Barrington, Three Oaks Assisted Living, and The Oaks Assisted Living. Chelsea prides herself on her evidence-based practice, family centered approach to medicine with treatment plans that include pharmacological and non-pharmacologic modalities. She takes the time to listen and to really get to know her patients to help foster the best outcomes. She is easy to talk to, kind, and approachable. She treats all patients as if they were her family. When Chelsea is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Chelsea has two young children who she adores. She also loves to bake, cycle, travel, and play golf and pickleball. Chelsea is happy to be a part of the Barrington Family Medicine team, carrying on the tradition of excellence in healthcare.
